Will the sun set or rise with the new Westminster legislation?

Lets get positive!

Thank goodness the elections are over! Such a mess of accusations, lies and election promises! Now back to reality. Whatever party we voted for and whether they won or lost we now have an elected government, albeit based on a poor turnout and very unrepresented, and I feel we should all wait a while to see what happens. Since the elections all I’ve read is negative comments. If you didn’t vote you don’t really have a right to voice criticism. This was once a great country and a world leader. When did we change from being Great Britain to the United Kingdom? We may never be the world leader that we were prior to WW2 as we see China’s incredible growth from a peasant to superpower country and other countries following close behind. But we can become successful again and regain the pride we once had. We must all pull together.

And it’s time the Civil Service were brought to heel. The cases I read about with people living here for many years legally, suddenly being questioned about their rights to remain here, having to prove they have lived here year on year: the Home Office taking over hotels for refugees and ruining businesses: The Department of Works and Pensions chasing those who have earned small amounts above the paultry allowances paid as carers: incorrectly re-assessing disabled people and withdrawing payments (assessments carried out by inexperienced and untrained assessors): demanding to work from home: and expecting golden pensions because they were in the job and not necessarily because they were doing the job well.

Seems to me that the country is being driven by Civil Servants who decide to be judge and jury: and Judges who have overridden parliament on a number of occasions. That needs to reverse and swing back so the government is at the helm and in charge.

The gap continues to widen between the rich and poor. Who would have thought just 10 years ago that we would have so many food banks, NHS waiting lists and poor schooling. School building stock is often old and unsuitable, and we are running behind in educational attainment, not because we have poor teachers, in fact we have incredibly hard working and dedicated teachers, something I know from my experiences as past governor at 2 local schools . So why are we dragging behind??

Can the new government turn their election promises into reality? Will we see a clean up in parliament? Can we begin to trust Starmer and his party? Should we give them a chance or continue complaining and speculating? Can we make Britain great again?

What do you think?
